On Sunday afternoon, myself, Jonas and an intrepid crew of talented filmmakers headed out Indian River Rd in North Vancouver – in the heart of Deep Cove.

Quarry Rock was our target.  A beautiful peak above the ocean facing onto North Burnaby.  We schlepped our gear, cameras, recording devices, instruments, apples, water, a CRANE, up the hill after some “exotic” driving maneuvers put us at a manageable distance and began setting up.  People were very curious, and once we got rolling – incredibly supportive!

Our very talented video director Jim Vanderhorst has been shooting a series of videos for the Peak Performance Project with us – the theme?  Music Everywhere.  One thing we’ve always done as a band is just set up and play wherever it felt good.  The thousands of stories of folks meeting us on the BC Ferries system is just one example of our cavalier approach to concert staging.

The video couldn’t have gone better!  The song is one Jonas recorded on his solo album called “Winter Song” that we’ve been doing lately – it’s rad.  We  got a great take of the song on our third crack at it.

Thanks are VERY much in order to Gene Greenwood, Rod Grim, Brigitte MacKenzie, Lena Vinogradova,  the awesome Jim Vanderhorst, and of course the amazing group of hikers who’d hiked up to Quarry Rock and were treated to a little impromptu performance.  Cheers!  Here’s a great shot of Jim and Lena on our turf.
